Incredible Mexican Hospitality
Day 68: What an incredible display of generous Mexican hospitality! I was at a bar by myself packing up getting ready to head out after a quick lunch. Some folks seeing my number plate and not knowing where Quebec was struck up a conversation and we chatted for a while.
They were one of the dirt bike race teams in the Baja 1000 as we were about to part ways they invited me out to a family farm where every read getting ready for a huge pig roast and party well into the night, live music, drinks, food, and ripping around some of the Baja circuit in one of their race vehicles, man that thing hauls ass!
In all of my travels I have consistently found the overwhelming number of "strangers" and people are welcoming, friendly, and good company. It's a wonder people are so afraid to trust anyone or try anything new outside of a prepacked and safely sterilized experience.
“Adventure may hurt you but monotony will kill you.”
"Do you want to follow our truck (full people I just met) to our farm in the remote 🇲🇽 desert to butcher a pig for a roast and party with our family tonight?" My answer was yes! Tho admittedly after writing this out it sounds unpredictable and maybe a little crazy... But perhaps that's exactly want an adventure is all about.
