Redefining Success in Baja Mexico
Day 62, I've meandered from Toronto 🇨🇦 to Ensenada Mexico visited many beautiful locations, met incredible people and had a lot of fun along the way. I've had very few fixed destinations along the way. When I roll into a new town I always ask the locals what I should check out nearby and that has guided me towards my next checkpoint. Rinse and repeat.
Adventure may hurt you, but monotony will kill you.
In 💼 business I used to have the goal of making some Top 30 Under 30 List, I failed, I didn't reach the arbitrary numbers and metrics 📉 I had personally set for myself which I could then celebrate and say "Now I can officially be happy!". I was caught in a miserable cycle of my own creation. I hated it.
I look at success and life a little differently now. Perhaps this comes with time, or maybe a cynic would call it a consolation 🏆
I now include time as one of the most valuable commodities around. Money is important, let's not kid ourselves but what good is having 💰 alone yet no time to spend with your family, friends, or to simply do absolutely nothing and not feeling guilty about it🤔
I'd equate that to perhaps being more like having a high standard of living, but a low standard of life. I think Bob Dylan said it best;
"A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do."
Welcome to Mexico! I think I'll stay a while 😎
